All our students have a primary diagnosis of ASD, are of a broadly average ability and have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) identifying their needs. We believe that referrals to the school should involve a partnership-building process with families and Local Authorities, designed to ensure that the school can meet the needs of prospective students.
The admissions process is founded on an appreciation of how difficult the transition into school can be for the student and his family. It recognises the need for the process to be planned sensitively and thoroughly. The time frame for the admissions process depends on a number of factors including:
– the nature and quantity of referral information
– the number of students awaiting assessment
– the availability of places and the time of year
