In July, Jenny Dando, one of our SaLTs, Chris Heslip, Assistant Head of Education and Rob Leigh, Head of Care and Family Support presented their small scale action research projects at an event at the University of Gloucestershire.
We are seeing a growing interest in our QoL work and being asked to present at a range of different conferences both here and abroad. We are also working with a number of schools to see how they can implement a similar framework to suit the needs of their students and families.
In July, Kiran attended and made a presentation at the 23rd World Congress of the International Association for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Profession (IACAPAP) in Prague.
This month Kiran presented at a Conference for a consortium of local authorities in Hertfordshire. Next month, he is off to The National Association of Independent Schools & Non-Maintained Special Schools (NASS) Annual Conference in Grantham to run two workshops on QoL and to the Research SEND conference in November in Manchester.
Rob Leigh has been invited to deliver a presentation and participate in a Q & A session at a Conference in London on 29th January on Child Sexual Exploitation: Tackling Offending, Reducing Vulnerability, Supporting Victims.
In September we delivered the first of a series of outreach training sessions. The first one, “Autism and Mental Health” took place on Wednesday 26th September with Dr Chris Morrell, one of our Clinical Psychologists, sharing his knowledge and expertise with staff from six schools in our locality.
