Headlines and Footnotes Spring Term 2021: March Edition

Introduction

Good afternoon everyone and a very warm Spring sunshine welcome to this edition of Headlines!

We are delighted to be back in school and almost fully operational, we are now just really looking forward to the day when we can invite all our families back onto site to share in what we are doing here in school.

As you can imagine we are keeping a careful eye on the roadmap dates out of lockdown, and hope that there will be no reason to deviate from these. This means that we should be able to open the school site back up to families and visitors from June 21st and we will be planning our end of year events accordingly!

As we have only been open for a short time this half term, there is a limited amount to share with you this time round, but hopefully there will still be plenty of interest to you all. So here we go with a combination of news, views and forthcoming events. As we won’t be seeing you before the end of term as we normally would we would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and healthy Easter holiday.

Working With Students

Food glorious food!

Mark Higgins and Manon (our catering team) produced a lovely feast for staff and students on site for Chinese New Year. This was a lovely surprise and very popular as you can imagine!

Many thanks to you both for taking the extra time to make all the food look and taste so delicious!

 

 

World Book Day

World Book Day looked different this year with the lockdown friendly approach of live digital events and Reading is Power podcasts, as well as online previews for all the £1 books available to students.

 

Once again Chef Mark and Manon went to great lengths to make the day a special occasion, producing a Roald Dahl themed lunch for us all, which was a delightful adventure!

 

As you can imagine…we are really looking forward to the next theme already…whatever it is !!
