Coronavirus family briefing number 7: 15.30 Thursday 26th March 2020
Dear families,
We hope that you are all keeping well, and that life is settling into some form of routine for you. We know this is going to look very different for every family, but if you have any tips or ideas you would like us to share with others please just let us know and we can do this through our daily briefing notes and the Facebook page.
Online lessons: We also hope that the online lessons are working well for you all and would welcome any feedback that we can pass on to staff. As a Leadership Team, we have been dropping into some of the sessions and been particularly impressed with the level of attendance and the boy’s behaviour and engagement. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and co-operation while we were getting this set up, and if you have any thoughts on how we can improve the service please contact Rob Piner on rpiner@swallciffepark.co.uk Lessons will continue until the last day of term which is next Thursday 2nd April. At this point in time we are not sure of the arrangements for after the Easter holiday but will be providing more information about this before the end of term.
On your behalf, we would also like to thank all the staff for their hard work and creativity in embracing this new way of working and making the lessons fun and productive.
Therapy: Next week we also hope to start running some therapy-based sessions and Nikki Mills, one of our Clinical Psychologists will be providing information on how this will work in tomorrow’s briefing note. This will include how we will be engaging with families as well as students and what we can all do to stay psychologically well over the coming days and weeks while we need to stay indoors.
Meals: As in previous briefing notes, we are happy to hear from anyone who would like to register for our free school meals scheme, and please be reassured that all enquiries will be considered in the strictest confidence.
Entertainment: We are aware that this extended period of time at home may put a strain on the variety of entertainment you are able to offer. With this in mind, it may be possible for us to help out a small number of families with access to online books, magazines and films. We are currently looking into the logistics of this but if it is something you would like to know more about please contact Rob Leigh on rleigh@swalcliffepark.co.uk
Naturally, anything we are able to offer in this regard will be based around a limited number of licences and therefore access needs to be limited to your direct family members and not beyond.
As ever, if you have any questions or concerns about lessons or any aspect of school operation please feel free to get in touch.

Hoping you are all well, and able to enjoy a little bit of the sunshine, within the permitted guidelines.
Best wishes,
Kiran, Rob and Rob
