Coronavirus briefing update no: 24 19th June 2020
Good afternoon all,
We hope everyone has had a good week and managed to stay dry during the rainy deluges we’ve been having……the
great news is that the sunshine is coming back next week!
Here at Swalcliffe the Week 1 boys have had another good week in school, and we are very much looking forward to seeing
our Week 2 boys on Monday.
We had a thorough discussion of what the school has been doing in recent weeks at our online meeting of Governors yesterday
and we talked about options for the coming weeks. The general feeling of the meeting was that the school had made every effort
to be as helpful as possible during this period and that all staff have been working extremely hard to support our boys and families
under very difficult circumstances. The Governors passed on their sincere thanks to all staff.
As you are no doubt all aware from news bulletins, the Covid-19 situation continues to evolve rapidly and there is much talk of an
easing of the 2m social distancing rule to help the economy. Whilst pressure is also growing in the media for as many students to
be in school as possible before the end of term. We hope you also feel that we have done as much as we could in this regard, and
please do let us know if you have any thoughts on this.
We will be keeping a careful eye on these discussions and other aspects of guidance to guide our thinking for the remainder of the
term and will do what we can do to accommodate as many boys as possible. We are also looking at our arrangements for inducting
our new boys who will be joining us in September.
We are aware that there is still much to do this term with respect to Pathway planning and timetables for September, and we are
working hard on preparing for this. A further update on this will be out next week as well as our thoughts and plans for the final
three weeks of term.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Hoping you are all well and looking forward to the weekend,
Kiran, Rob and Rob.
