The staff team at Swalcliffe Park we have a proven record in successfully engaging secondary aged students.  A love for learning is often developed once the student experiences the unique structure of learning at Swalcliffe Park.

Young people who attend the school will generally have a Statement of Educational needs which may contain a diagnosis of Autism/Asperger syndrome along side maybe ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, ODD, PDA, AD.  The team at Swalcliffe Park provide a specialist provision that can successfully engage young people who may present a range of challenging behaviours.

Our admission criteria for a young person is:

  • secondary age range or, in exceptional circumstances, direct admission into our post 16 provision for young people who present with ASD
  • a developmental disorder, learning difficulty or behavioural difficulty that we have previously managed successfully
  • behaviours that do not endanger Swalcliffe Park being a safe learning and living environment for students and staff.  For example, young people with a history of serious offending, fire raising, violent behaviour, highly sexualised behaviour or substance abuse would not normally be considered
  • an identified class space
  • an identified house space compatible with the age group and developmental stage of the young person
